Program Description
The Junior Mufti Intensive Program – A Youth Raised in Obedience to Allah is an enrichment program within the Mu‘adh Bin Jabal project, designed to teach ‘Uloom Shar‘iyyah (Islamic sciences) interactively through a question-and-answer approach. It covers Eman (faith), Tahara (purification), Salah (prayer), Sawm (fasting), and Qur’an studies, with a special focus on Surat Yusuf, where students engage in storytelling sessions to extract lessons from the life of Prophet Yusuf (‘alayhis-salam), fostering a deeper understanding of Islamic values.
General Program Plan
The Junior Mufti Intensive Program – A Youth Raised in Obedience to Allah follows four main tracks: Fiqh of Tahara and Salah, Fiqh of Sawm, Pillars of Eman, and Reflection on Surat Yusuf. Spanning four weeks, it covers Eman and Tahara in the first two weeks, and Salah and Sawm in the last two.
The program emphasizes storytelling, especially in the Surat Yusuf track, where students reflect on its lessons beyond traditional methods. Explanations rely on Tafsir At-Tabari, Tafsir Ibn Kathir, and Tafsir As-Sa‘di, with a daily memorization goal of ten lines to ensure both understanding and retention.
Key learning Outcomes
- Gaining a clear understanding of Fiqh concepts related to Tahara, Salah, and Sawm, and the ability to express them clearly.
- Learning the conditions, pillars, and nullifiers of Tahara, Salah, and Sawm according to the Fiqh methodology.
- Completing the memorization of Surat Yusuf while comprehending its meanings and educational lessons.
Program Objectives
- Strengthening youth’s understanding of Eman (faith) by connecting them to the purpose of creation and existence, helping them build a sound belief based on knowledge and certainty.
- Teaching the fundamentals of Eman, Taharh, Salah, and Sawm through a practical and interactive approach, enabling students to understand and apply them in daily life.
- Instilling Islamic values from Surat Yusuf, such as avoiding envy, fostering brotherhood, relying on Allah, and practicing patience in all aspects of life.
- Cultivating real role models for students through Quranic stories, linking them to the Qur’an as a guiding reference in their behavior and thinking.
