KALEMAH EXCLUSIVE EVENT

Dawrah Ilmiyyah is an intensive and structured study of specific topics pertaining to the Deen of Allah in a way that is endorsed by the traditional Islamic institutions.

It focuses on providing a solid, clear and sound understanding of the key foundational sciences of Islam, not only for the student of knowledge but also for any Muslim who is seeking to strengthen his faith and wants to be steadfast on Deen.

       The programme is a uniquely designed Dawrah, in English allowing non-Arabic speaking students access to the knowledge of traditional Islamic books.

ABOUT THE CURRICULUM

Al-Qasidah Al-Ha’iyyah” by Al-Hafez Al-Hakimi teaches us to focus on the afterlife, not worldly desires. It divides people into the righteous and misled, promising paradise to the faithful. An inspiring poem about seeking eternal happiness.

The book “Al-Baqiyat Al-Salihat” teaches the importance of remembering Allah. It explains adhkar after salah, their wordings, and the rewards for reciting them. A simple guide to strengthen our connection with Allah and seek His blessings throughout the day.

Ayat al-Kursi, a revered verse in the Quran. It describes Allah’s greatness, knowledge, and authority over all creation. The verse emphasizes His mercy and encourages seeking His protection. Contemplating Ayat al-Kursi strengthens faith and brings peace.

AL-KHULAASAH AL- HASANAA

Ta’dhim al-‘Ilm by Shaykh Saalih ibn Abdillah Ibn Hamad al-Usaymi In this book the Shaykh provides twenty essential tools for every student of the sacred sciences to reach the heights of knowledge. The author discusses the importance of cleansing the heart, sincerity, high aspirations, memorisation and much more. Every student should be adorned with these jewels throughout their journey of seeking knowledge.

Sharhus-Sunnah by Imam al-Muzanee This book is a concise expression of sound ’Aqeedah from one of its earliest sources. Sharhus-Sunnah was penned by the Noble Imaam Ismaaeel Ibn Yahyaa al-Muzanee (d.264H) – the companion and disciple of Imam ash-Shaafi’ee (d.204H). The Imaam covers all of the foundational issues of faith in Islam including, Allah’s ascendancy over the creation, the Qadr (pre-decree), Emaan, the Quran, the Attributes of Allah, the Resurrection, Seeing Allah in the Hereafter, the Companions and much more.

Al-Arba’een al-Nawawi with the additions of Ibn Rajab The collection of Forty Aḥādīth by Imām Al-Nawawi has been recognised, accepted and appreciated by Muslim scholars for the last seven centuries. Its significance lays in the fact that these selected forty-two Aḥādīth comprise the main, essential and fundamental concepts of Islam. Ibn Rajab added eight Aḥādīth to round it to Fifty.

Al-Waraqaat by Imam al-Haramayn ‘Abd al-Malik al-Juwayni Al-Waraqaat is a renowned Islamic classical text on the subject of Usul al-Fiqh. It paves the way for a foundational education on the sources of Islamic law and the procedures by which the law is derived from the sources. It is called waraqat because it is concise, with the Arabic text (Matn) fitting on roughly five pages. It is part of a series of Islamic classical texts, known as summarized works (Mukhtasarat) that are considered an essential study for every serious seeker of Islamic knowledge who wants to follow the methodology laid out by the scholars of Islam to facilitate the acquisition of beneficial knowledge.

Aqeedah al-Waasitiyyah by Shaykh ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah Written in response to a request from a judge from Wasit, Iraq, ibn Taymiyyah penned this book encapsulating the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah Wa’l-Jamaa’ah, with the clearest clarifications and simplest of expressions. It is amongst the best of what has been collected and written on the topic of Aqidah. The clearest indication of this is the great care and attention of the scholars in explaining it and teaching it to the students of knowledge.

Manthumatul-Fiqhiyyah by Shaykh Abd al-Rahman ibn Naasir al-Sa’di. In this poem, the author comprises many legal maxims, in a simple and concise manner that can be memorised by the student of knowledge. It is a good introduction to the science of Qawaa’id al-Fiqhiyyah.

Muqaddimah fi Usool al-Tafsir by Shaykh ul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah. The Qur’an is the greatest miracle for mankind, yet how many of us truly understand its beautiful message and the sciences that surround it? This book is one of the many written on this topic. In it, the illustrious scholar Ibn Taymiyyah outlines the principles employed by the scholars in understanding the verses of the Qur’an.

Imam ibn Hajar al-Asqalani’s Nukhbatul Fikr is a primary text that is commonly used to introduce an individual to the Science of Hadith (Ulum al-Hadith) and the major terminology (Mustalah) associated with it. This introductory text covers the types of chains of transmission (Asaneed), types of acceptable narrations (Maqbul) and the types of rejected narrations (Mardud).

Al- Ajrumiyyah by Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Dau’d as-Sinhaji, known as Ibn Ajrum. Ajrumiyyah’s status is largely unchallenged as an excellent introduction to this first field of learning, which every scholar must master before delving into other Arabic literature. We find much attention has been paid to it amongst the scholars over a considerable period of time. From the many authored works, this text in particular shines far more clearly than any other, it has withstood the test of time and is still being taught as the first key book in grammar, throughout the world.

Al-Durar al-Bahiyyah by Imam al-Shawkani Ad-Durar al-Bahiyyah is Matn of Fiqh known, by Imam al-Shawkaani which has the distinction of giving directly the dominant speech in the different issues of Fiqh, without following any particular Madhhab. This makes the text easy to understand for a beginner-level student of knowledge.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Ustadh Abdulrahman Hassan memorised Qur’an and Buloogh Al-Muraam by the age of 10. He has travelled to different countries to study with a number of prominent scholars. 

He is the founder of Al Madrasatu Al Umariyyah, an online program in the English language for seeking knowledge in the classical way. 

He has studied with prominent scholars such as: Shaykh Saalih Al-Fawzaan – Shaykh Muhammad Aadam Al-Ethiobee – Shaykh AbdulKareem Khudayr – Shaykh AbdulMuhsin Al-Abbaad – Saad Ibn Nasir Al Shithree – Shaykh Abdullah Al-Ubaylaan.
