Mu’awiyah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, “When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of Deen.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim] (Riyad as-Salihin 1376)
Dawrah Ilmiyyah is an intensive and structured study of specific topics pertaining to the Deen of Allah in a way that is endorsed by the traditional Islamic institutions.
What is unique this time about this Dawrah Ilmiyyah is that it is a 16-day virtual Dawrah that uses the medium of YouTube Live broadcasting to deliver a programme that aims to help students of all levels understand classical Islamic texts in a way that is applicable and beneficial to the everyday life of every Muslim. This provides an opportunity to Muslims worldwide to take part and benefit from such a one-of-a kind programme.
Another unique feature of this programme is that it is designed to be delivered in English, allowing non-Arabic speaking students access to the knowledge of traditional Islamic books.
Here is what we hope for our students to learn from the 5 books that will be covered during the Dawrah Ilmiyyah:
- Understanding the three categories of Tawheed.
- Explaining certain established points from the correct creed of ‘Aqeedah of Ahl al-Sunnah.
- The importance of contemplating upon the creation of Allāh and their signs which indicate their maker as well as His names and attributes.
- Understanding the importance of Akhlaaq; inculcating good conduct whilst avoiding misconduct.
- The importance of remembering Allāh.
