Topic – The importance of purification of self and its source and its benefits
“Tazkiyatu nafs” (purification of the soul) is a Quranic terminology. In Islamic terminology, “Tazkiyah” means to keep oneself away from those things which the Quran and the Sunnah state as forbidden, disgraceful or abhorrent.
Thus protecting oneself from the corruption of sins and blameworthy deeds, and to beautify it in the light of the Quran and Sunnah through deeds which are praiseworthy and beloved to Allah
Therefore “Tazkiyah” cannot be achieved until the heart is cleansed of all spiritual ailments, sinful desires, and vice

About the speakers
Dr Abdul Hameed Zafar holds a PhD in Fiqh from University of Sharjah. He is an Imam and Khateeb and lives with his wife and kids in Dubai. He regularly appears on Sharjah TV and imparts insightful talks for Kalemah’s Urdu division. His doctrinal research paved way into him serving the muslim community by educating them on the important components and correct concepts of worship in establishing blissful homes and society.
