“The best of all worship is the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.”
The excellence of memorizing the Qur’an as well as the excellence of teaching it has been mentioned to us by the Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi wa Sallam) numerous times, when he said: "The best amongst you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it."
In order to recite the Qur'an as it was revealed, one needs guidance from a qualified instructor. KALEMAH is pleased to announce our new program for sisters, ‘Riyaad-ul-Qur’an,’ with the aim of teaching the correct rules of recitation and aiding in the memorization of Juz 'Amma.
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide a detailed understanding of the rules of Tajweed and their practical application in Juz Amma (30). By the end of this course the student will, insha'Allah, be able to recite the Qur'an with the proper rules of Tajweed and will have memorized the Surahs of Juz ‘Amma, according to her capability as determined by the instructor.
Benefits of the Course:
In order to recite the Qur’an as it was revealed to and recited by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم; students need to familiarize themselves with the knowledge of:
- The correct pronunciation of the letters of the Arabic alphabet.
- The rules related to perfecting the recitation of the Qur’an.
By mastering the above, students will be able to read the Qur’an with perfect Tajweed.
The Tajweed course is thereby, divided into three stages:
- The pronunciation of letters – In al-Qa'ida al-Nuraniyya, students will learn how to correctly pronounce the Arabic alphabets as well as becoming familiar with the Arabic words in the Qur’an in order to make the student comfortable with the recitation.
- The rules relating to perfecting ones recitation – Gradually, the students will be taught the rules related to perfecting ones recitation e.g. the rules relating to prolonging a letter, letters and words which should be pronounced from the nose, rules related to stopping and so on.
- The implementation – Students will be taught to implement the rules of Tajweed into their recitation of the Qur’an.
About the Instructor:
Sister Hamdah Obaid Salmin from UAE, is a Hafidha’, having memorized the complete Qur’an. She has studied the Tajweed Rules under Ustadha Eemaan Ali Mushtafa Ghandour, and has obtained an Ijaazah in the riwaayah of ‘Hafs ‘an ‘Asim’. Sister Hamdah is a graduate in English Literature, from the United Arab Emirates University. She has been a judge in various Qur’an competitions, including the recent 9th Qur’an Competition held at the Jumeirah Model School (Academic year 2010 – 2011). Sister Hamdah currently is a teacher in Zayed bin Sultan School.
