About Kalemah

KALEMAH is an Islamic centre and da’wah organisation founded in September 2007 through the generous contributions of members of the U.A.E. community. We aim to provide a platform from which a correct understanding of Islam can be seen and heard by people in general.

Our on-going activities in the centre strongly support our goals for which we are established on: Presenting Islam to All, New Muslim Orientation, Educating Muslims, Teaching Arabic, and Developing Du’aat (Callers to Islam).

Mission

To enrich our community and bridge cultural and religious gaps by providing authentic Islamic knowledge to both Muslims and non-Muslim regardless of age, gender, or color, and to provide a forum for people to connect and interact for the sake of Allah.

Goals

  • Present authentic Islam to Non Muslims
To counter the negative portrayal of Islam and Muslims in the media, our goal focuses on providing the correct understanding about Islamic beliefs and practices. Through conferences, seminars, and open discussions, Non-Muslims will be able to see and hear the other side of the story and be able to form more informed and unbiased conclusions.
Activities: Conferences, Conventions, Distribution of books and other media
  • Provide comprehensive Islamic education and support for New Muslims
Although the Kalemah/Shahada (Testimony of Faith) is the first step into entering Islam, the journey of being a Muslim has only just begun. Our goal is to follow up with those who have recently reverted to Islam and provide them with a comprehensive education program and support system to ease their transition to their new life as a Muslim.
Activities: Comprehensive classes on the basics of Islam, Counseling, Field Trips, Umrah/Hajj Packages, Social events for networking with other Muslims
  • Provide Islamic knowledge to the Non-Arabic speaking Muslim community
Due to the many obligations we have to fulfill in life, KALEMAH offers an easy and accessible way for us to take care of one of them: seeking knowledge about Islam. As Muslims, we need to make time to dedicate ourselves to continuously learn ways to get closer to our Creator. Through intensive courses, weekly classes, and online resources, our goal is to make fulfilling this responsibility much easier. We aim to reach a wide audience belonging to different ethnic backgrounds and age groups. We also have specialized programs segmented accordingly: youth, men, women, children, and mothers.
Activities: Intensive Weekend/In-Campus Seminars, Weekly Multilingual Lectures, Qur’an and Tajweed Classes, General Islamic Lectures, Islamic Studies Courses, Noor-ul-Ilm (Children’s Educational Program), Workshops
  • Provide Arabic classes for all
Living in the UAE, the Arabic language is a helpful tool to be used at work, going about daily activities, and developing business and personal relationships. Arabic also holds a special place in the hearts of Muslims, with it being the language of the Qur’an. Therefore, KALEMAH presents the opportunity to learn Arabic, in both classical and colloquial tongues.
Activities: Arabic Classes (Beginners, Intermediate, Advanced) open for all
  • Develop Muslim Du`aat (Callers to Islam)
For this goal, KALEMAH targets young, enthusiastic, and dedicated Muslims and develops them to become tomorrow’s leaders, proudly carrying the banner of Islam and representing it in the best light. Through youth programs and workshops, we hope to inspire the hearts of these individuals to actively convey the message of Islam to the future generations, insha Allah.
Activities: Bearers of Light (A Muslim Youth Forum), Leadership workshops
